Invention Studio Partnership

The Invention Studio and the SCC have a recurring partnership where up to 5 members of each SCC team are allowed after-hours access to the Invention Studio resources they are trained on for projects regarding their respective team.

Note:

-- this is NOT the same as regular PI status. It features much more limited access and privileges.

-- students will ONLY be able to work on SCC-related projects after-hours

-- students may not bring guests with them after-hours

-- students can only use tools that they have been approved to use during after-hours

-- to continue this partnership, teams will have to help clean out the waterjet of the Invention Studio

-- violation of these rules will result in revoked after-hours access to the Invention Studio

At the beginning of each semester, a list of returning SCC members who would like to take part in this partnership should be emailed to ops@inventionstudio.gatech.edu

To gain access to the Invention Studio, students must follow these steps:

Step 1:

• sign up as one of your team's representatives at the spreadsheet above

Step 2:

• You can go to the space whenever it is open (Mon-Fri 11am-5pm) and ask a PI on duty for training, or if you feel confident from watching the training videos provided by the Invention Studio, you can watch the training and get tested immediately by a PI. Testing must occur at least 24 hours after you have taken the training. Make sure that the PI checks off your training!

Step 3:

• Once you have completed the trainings you would like, please turn in the form to the front desk of the Invention Studio where you will then be granted access to the IS.

The sooner start the trainings, the quicker you can get started with after-hours access!
