As one of the oldest competition teams on campus, GT Motorsports’ goal is to provide students with the opportunity to utilize their existing theoretical knowledge and acquire practical experience in real-life situations by designing, building, and testing open-wheeled, F1-style race cars in preparation for Formula SAE competition (FSAE). Race enthusiasts gather each year in Brooklyn, Michigan at the iconic Michigan International Speedway to participate in the largest North American competition of its kind. The event is attended by teams from the world’s top engineering and technological universities.

GT OFF Road

Georgia Tech Off-Road is a student-led team founded in 1998 that participates in annual Baja SAE competitions. The team currently has 60+ undergraduate members with students majoring mostly in some form of engineering. Students on the team are provided with an opportunity to work on a large scale and time-constrained engineering project. They learn to not only design and analyze vehicle components, but also to develop communication and teamwork skills in ensuring proper integration between designs. Our competition is held on an off-road course designed to break our car during the endurance race.

GT Solar Racing

Georgia Tech Solar Racing (GTSR) is a nonprofit, student-run organization that designs and builds street-legal solar-powered race cars for track and cross-country competitions around the world. Our mission is to push the cutting edge of hyper-efficient vehicle technology while offering our members real opportunities to improve design, manufacturing, and leadership skills. We are passionate about advancing vehicle technology through building solar-powered race cars.
We compete in the American Solar Challenge and Formula Sun Grand Prix against collegiate teams from across North America. Summer 2025 we will become the first american team to race a 4 person solar powered car!
EcoCAR

We’re a group of Georgia Tech students aiming to enhance the understanding of robotics and its applications. Our goal is to promote, educate, and advance the field of robotics through diverse, in-depth projects.
We are a multidisciplinary organization that enables students to gain hands-on experience with all aspects of robotics. Our environment encourages both breadth and depth, so our members can collaborate in group environments as well as pursue independent projects.
We compete in several collegiate-level robotics competitions every year. Each event has different objectives, design limits, and playing fields. Our robots range from very small and completely autonomous, to large and human-operated. Almost every project has mechanical, electrical, and software aspects, and we’re always open to new members!
Our teams include: Battlebots, RoboNav, RoboCup, RoboRacing, and RoboWrestling
